🦅 Independence Day is just around the corner! Celebrate your freedom and this beautiful country by hosting the best July 4th cookout with the help of Kenyon Noble! Keep reading for our top tips and tricks to be the host(ess) with the most(est) this weekend.
1. Evaluate your space
Go outside and survey your party space. Write down the various chores that you need to handle before the weekend — mowing the lawn, spreading mulch, picking up forgotten toys or stray branches — and organize into 5, 10, and 30+ minute tasks. I find it helpful to batch small tasks, schedule, and delegate with the rest of my family, which helps to get everything done in a timely manner.
Once all the chores are complete and your blank canvas is ready to be transformed into Backyard BBQ Central, look at all the things you’d like to do. Whether that be adding a new fire pit to the back corner, or hanging patio lights over your seating area, the friendly staff at Kenyon Noble is here to help you find the right tools and supplies for the job.
2. Get your game on
Backyard barbecues allow for some much-needed relaxation, conversation, and the rare opportunity to smoke your neighbor in horseshoes or cornhole. Add your favorite outdoor games to a designated corner or area of the yard, so as not to dive bomb anyone’s dessert with a cornhole bag (Aunt Marge would likely not be impressed, regardless of your athletic abilities). This allows your more competitive guests to get some socializing in without disturbing the more relaxed areas of the back yard.
3. Spruce up your patio
The patio is the natural gathering place for your guests. Make it an inviting space with a new hammock and some potted flowers (check out the Bozeman location Garden Center for all your patio needs!). If it’s been a while, it might be time to power wash the patio and any outdoor furniture. A little more grime on your furniture than you remember? Try scrubbing with a multi-surface cleanser or a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser for extra stubborn spots. For wood and natural materials, check with the manufacturer’s recommendations for conditioning oil and cleaners.
4. Add comfortable seating
Look, we’re not above asking people to bring their own camp chairs, but having a nice deep-seating set or a few comfy Adirondacks around your firepit can really take your gathering to a whole new level. Check out our current Garden Center Flash Sale now through July 4, and save 10-50% on ALL in-stock outdoor furniture!
5. Food!
Now we’re talkin! While the best part of any good party is the company, the food takes a close second. Stop in at your local Kenyon Noble and use backyard cooking as an excuse to treat yourself to a new grill. Snag yourself a new Traeger pellet grill and wow your guests with these BBQ Pulled Pork Sliders. While you’re in-store, check out Kenyon Noble’s wide selection of sauces, rubs, and spices, as well as any tools that you might need to pick up.
Not into pellet grills? How about a Big Green Egg for that classic cookout flavor. Pick up an Eggniter® to speed up the lighting process, a dry rub or sauce of your choice, and grill up some delicious, homemade chicken wings. Don’t forget the Dude Wipes for all those sticky fingers!
For those who want to just turn on the propane and get to grillin’, save $50 on select Weber Spirit grills in-stores only, now through July 7, 2024! Stop in at your local Kenyon Noble location today for details.
